Machinal was my first immersive performance as an independent designer for set and costume. Using nine rooms in Lamorbey House on the campus of Rose Bruford, I created a space for each individual scene. The play was viewed as a promenade performance, and between scenes three sets of 25 audience members were led from room to room by performers in character and stage managers who were dressed to the 1920's theme. The photographs below show the various set and costume used during different scenes of the production.
