Quartet of plays

Directed by Julian Jones

I was given four short plays (Frugal Horn, F***ing Instruments, Expecting and Now That's What I Call Music) and three rooms in the Bargehouse (Southbank, London) to design for a set of promenade style performances. I played with the linking musical theme to create rooms which allowed the audience to step in to a giant cello, watch stories unfold behind piano wire nets and view decaying sculptures in a dilapidated art gallery setting. The characters became absorbed by their surroundings, which is mirrored through the  muted wooden colours of their clothing.
